The evolving weed situation in New Jersey has got folks talking! A Stockton University Poll was released, showing how pot’s aroma is taking over public spots and even homes. Around 57% smell it in public often or sometimes, while 32% catch a whiff rarely. One group, 29%, even get a hint from their neighbors’ places, with 21% rarely and 49% never smelling it at home.

Seems like most are cool with the smell – 52% aren’t fazed by the haze. But 19% are majorly bothered, especially nonusers. When asked about rights, nearly half agree both the right to smoke at home and the right to not smell it from neighbors are equally important.

The director of the Hughes Center says there’s not much thought on how the weed smell’s spreading everywhere. Legal lounges might help, but rules limit their accessibility.

Driving high? About 39% know someone who’s done it, but opinions on how risky it is vary. Most agree driving drunk is way riskier than driving high. This is especially accurate throughout densely populated Northern New Jersey. And peeps want tests to check weed impairment while driving.

This survey reflects differing views based on whether folks use weed. More users are chill about the smell and back the right to smoke at home. Stockton University’s diving into Cannabis Studies, offering programs to understand the industry. The poll quizzed around 592 adult residents, dialing cell phones and landlines. Margin of error’s around +/- 4.0 percentage points.
